Burghley (Yr 3)
WELCOME TO BURGHLEY
Welcome to 2018 in Burghley Class. In Burghley this year we are lucky enough to have two teachers working with us. Mrs Jesson will be working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and then Mrs Thomas will be working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. There will be some time for both our teachers to meet on a Wednesday so that they can make sure all runs smoothly and Burghley is shipshape. We will also have the help of Mrs Evans and Mrs Fenn at different times during the week.
Over the next two terms Burghley children will be experiencing everything Roman. We will be joined by our resident Roman called Romulus and our classroom will be turned into Villa Burghley. Romulus will be helping us to learn about what it would have been like to live during the Roman rule and we will be helping him to find out about modern day Rome. We will all try and make comparisons and see if there are any similarities. We will we be finding out how the Romans influence our lives today and what has been left behind as a legacy of the Roman Empire.
We wonder if we would have enjoyed living life as a Roman?

Our PE sessions this term will be on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Please ensure your child has the correct PE kit in school. As our curriculum is very creative we ask our children make sure their PE kit is in school at all times as extra PE sessions may happen at other times during the school week.
In RE we will be looking at Jesus as an inspirational leader.
Please see the Theme web 'Swords and Sandals' below for further detail on the areas covered over the Spring Term.
This term there will be many exciting learning opportunities for your children and as always we greatly welcome and appreciate your support.
