Events

This page celebrates some of the events that the staff and children put on to ensure that the Christian teachings lead our religious development.

In December we held our second whole school pilgrimage. Every class received a scroll from a person in the Christmas story at the beginning of the week, summoning them to a specific place in the village on Friday. This gave the children chance to study ‘their’ person in detail and prepare questions. The children all dressed as shepherds The Innkeeper, Mary and Baby Jesus (yes, a real baby too!), a shepherd, two of the kings, the Angel Gabriel and King Herod were stationed in various places throughout the village. Each class of shepherds made their way to find ‘their’ person. As the children (I mean, shepherds) continued on their journey they finally made it to Bethleham where they met the young Messiah, where they sang 'Away in a Manger' to help him to sleep.

The Christmas Nativity very quickly followed for the Key Stage One children.

In Summer 2019, the year 6 children had the opportunity to participate in our third Reflection Week. Activities across the week included time for Prayer, Reflection, Celebration, Aspirations and feelings of loss - all supporting this transition time as they begin to think abou their move to secondary education.
