Burghley (Yr 3)

Welcome back to Summer Term 6, our final term in Year 3!

Welcome back Burghley Class as we embark on our final term in Year 3. We continue to be supported by Mrs Evans during all mornings as well as Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Mrs Crooks will also be joining us on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. The class will also be partly taught by Miss Cummings and Mrs Loader.

I hope everyone managed to have a well-deserved break after our incredibly busy Term 5. We were able to display all that we have learned with our Class Assembly as well as taking part in Skip 2be Fit and becoming chefs for the afternoon with Roots to Food cooking a delicious Jambalaya. We had great fun making our crowns and celebrating the Platinum Jubilee and of course the May Dance.

It has been great to see so many of you have kept up with using Accelerated Reader during half-term. Don’t forget that you can do quizzes online at home once a reading book is finished. It is important that these are completed independently, and I look forward to seeing your continued progress through the Summer Term. Congratulations to those using TT Rockstars to practice your times table knowledge, the more you practice, the more confident you will become.

Our theme for Summer Term 6 is 'Extreme Earth’, we will be exploring the physical geography of volcanoes and earthquakes and the reasons behind earthquakes and where they are most likely to occur. In Science, we will learn about the forces of push and pull and explore how magnets work. We will also be creating our own 2-page pop-up information book looking at mechanical systems; Levers and linkages. With Sports Day fast approaching, we will be doing lots of practice preparing for this event as well as children developing their Tennis skills.

To see what we will be covering in Term 6 please take a look at the Medium Term Theme Plan for Parents below.

I continue to value working in partnership with you, so please do keep in touch. If you have any problems at all, please contact me via Class Dojo or by email:
