Burghley (Yr 3)
WELCOME TO SPRING TERM IN BURGHLEY CLASS
Welcome back to the Spring Term in the new year of 2021. We started with such excitement on the 4th January only to be told we were in lockdown once again. I know that we're all disappointed but we do have lots of exciting and important learning planned for the term.
We're well underway with using Accelerated Reader from last term and some of our children have now received their first certifications - please encourage them to keep this up as part of their reading at home during lockdown - please see the letter from Mrs Johnson and Mrs Jagger regarding how to access this. They can now do quizzes online at home once a reading book is finished - it is important that they do these independently and I look forward to seeing their progress.
Once again, I will be making Knowledge Organisers available for both our theme and for core subjects. Please do encourage your child to regularly review these at home - it is important that they all learn and understand this knowledge and have further opportunity to discuss it with you at home as will help them to be able to verbalise the knowledge they are learning.
I will be keeping parents up to date with our learning developments and giving general messages and reminders out on Class Dojo on a daily basis during this time, so do remember to turn on your notifications and check in frequently. All of the work I am setting for your child remotely, will be available on SeeSaw - please do let me know if you have any connectivity issues with this and I will do my best to resolve any problems. The weekly overview will be published at the start of the week with activities uploaded on a daily basis. It will help me enormously if you could also upload your child's independent work by the end of the day (or as soon as complete would be even better). I will also be sending you details of the daily 'live' teaching for English & Maths that will be undertaken using Zoom. Again, please let me know if you have particular issues accessing this. Below, you can find both a 'Zoom for parents' safety guide together with a resource bank of online platforms that you can access to support your child's remote learning during lockdown.
If you have any problems at all, please get in touch firstname.lastname@example.org I look forward to continuing working with you and your child/children.
